Matthew Brazier: Looking into 2025 with VirginLand

Background and Journey to VirginLand

I have worked in the housing industry for over 20 years, mainly on the housebuilder side. During that time, I gained an understanding of how land was and is traded. When I recognised how VirginLand is disrupting the market and changing the landscape, I could see the potential and wanted to be part of that movement and shift.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Six months into my tenure, I have already seen VirginLand’s immense potential and the impact we’re having by helping partners scale and fulfill their acquisition strategies quickly, without the overhead risk. It’s exciting to witness the opportunities we’re creating and the momentum we’re building as we approach 2025.

Key Trends Shaping Revenue Growth

We are observing signs of confidence returning to the market following the Labour government’s recent announcements. Two main sectors stand out, whilst cautious, are housebuilders and energy infrastructure companies. Both will play a pivotal role in meeting housing targets over the next four years, offering significant opportunities for growth.

Vision for VirginLand in 2025

VirginLand has experienced solid growth in its two-plus years of operation, with Q4 of this year marking a record quarter since its inception. Looking ahead, we have a clear revenue map for 2025 that aims to increase growth by over 30%. This projection reflects the strong foundation we’ve built and the continued demand for our innovative approach.

Personal Goals

On a personal level, I’d like to challenge myself by taking on something outside my comfort zone—perhaps a Tough Mudder or a similar obstacle run.

Challenges and Plans for Revenue Operations

Scaling will be our biggest challenge. As we grow rapidly, there will be a temptation to hire quickly. However, 2024 has shown us that the right hires make all the difference. We plan to maintain a disciplined approach to recruitment, prioritising quality over quantity to ensure our team’s strength and cohesion.

The Role of Company Culture

Success is driven by leadership, culture, and the people we work with. At VirginLand, the culture fosters openness, curiosity, professionalism, and focused determination, all of which have been instrumental in our success. What stands out most, though, is how much fun we have while achieving our goals.

Professional Bucket list

Revenue Operations (RevOps) is new to me, and it’s a fascinating arena. Honing my craft and deepen my understanding of the RevOps language and framework is definitely on my bucket list this year.

Theme Song for the Role

It has to be “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC! The energy and momentum of the song perfectly capture the excitement and drive I feel heading into the new year.
